19th century architects John and Robert Adam were well known for their enduring and famous works in London, such as The Moffat House Hotel, Hopetoun House, Dumfries House, and most notably the neoclassical Adelphi district where Adam Street is located. This lantern was designed using common architectural elements from these timeless works of architecture. To this day, gas lanterns adorn these fabulous works.
